Mechi Chal Peak

Mechi Chal Peak is the main tourist resource of the municipality; it is located south of Chepelare town. It combines lift facilities and ski runs for the main winter tourist service of the town – ski holidays. The peak is 1.873 m a.s.l., but due to the mix of cold northern and warm Mediterranean air masses, you can expect significant snowfalls here. The accurate snow processing, the ski runs gradient and width, the mild winter temperatures and many sunny days, make the peak a desired place for winter holidays for Bulgarian and international tourists.

The lifts in Chepelare and Pamporovo operate during the summer season also

Chepelare is not just a resort with snow slopes.

In the summer, it also attracts tourists with its fresh mountain climate and the opportunities for practicing route-based, educational and recreational mountain tourism. The resort is a starting point for dozens of tourist hikes and a center for events from the cultural and sports calendar.

The hikes are varied - from one-day hikes to weekly programs for more enthusiastic mountain lovers.

Natural attractions such as the centuries-old spruce tree 'Chepelarskite Yunatsi' add additional charm to the area.It is unique with its 23 branches, created as a result of mutations. It is accessible by footpath or by lift and is a pleasant place for walks in all seasons. Also interesting is the panoramic platform 'Mechi Chal', located at an altitude of 1852 m, which offers incredible views of the surrounding area.
