Chepelare Municipality took part in and presented its tourism opportunities at the first edition of the online tourism exhibition “Book in Bulgaria”, organized by the information agency bgtourism.bg from May 8 to 10. The initiative was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism, and the Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
Nearly 150 participants, including hotels and accommodation facilities, tourist attractions, tourism sites, and companies operating in the tourism sector, presented their products. Hoteliers from Chepelare Municipality also had the opportunity to present their offers. The event was supported by a number of popular figures from Bulgaria, including Hristo Stoichkov, Maria Grozdeva, Yordan Yovchev, and European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel.
“I congratulate the authors of the ‘Book in Bulgaria’ initiative. Virtual tourism exhibitions and tours are a new opportunity to rediscover beautiful places in Europe and Bulgaria at a time when we need to stay at home because of the coronavirus. Bulgaria is a country rich in traditions, culture, and talent. Every corner invites us to visit it, to experience its past and present, and to recharge spiritually and emotionally. Let us all support and virtually revisit the places and destinations we know, and discover the beauty of new ones. So that we can emerge stronger from the current situation, together, with care for Bulgaria and responsibility for the future of our country,” shared European Commissioner Gabriel. Special addresses to the participants were also made by the mayors of seaside and mountain towns, respectively the Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, and the Mayor of Chepelare, Boran Hadzhiev.
