On October 25, Chepelare once again proved that good causes unite people from near and far. With a motorcycle parade and a charity concert for children with resource support from the Vasil Dechev Secondary School in Chepelare, the 2025 Moto season was closed. Rockers from Sofia, Plovdiv, Asenovgrad, Chepelare, the rock band Rockin’ Chair and local institutions participated in the charity initiative.
The event was organized on a joint initiative of the Church Boards of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Church of St. Athanasius the Great in the town of Chepelare with the assistance of the Municipality of Chepelare, the Municipal Children's Center of the Chepelare and the Chitalishte Rhodopska Iskra 1880 - Chepelare.
The initiative is on the occasion of the Day of Prayer for Children with Disabilities. A charity bazaar was also held at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.
The motorcycle procession passed through the main street of the city to Olympic Square, where the event was officially opened, and those present had the opportunity to admire, take pictures, or ride some of the motorcycles.
The donation boxes, positioned in front of the Chitalishte ''Rhodopska Iskra 1880'' with the help of the Youth Red Cross, as well as the creations of the children from the ICBCPMN, exhibited in the lobby, touched many.
The concert program was opened in the traditional Rhodopean style by the talented bagpipers and singers, graduates of the Municipal Children's Complex. Through the magic of their music, they told about the power of the Rhodope Mountains, which moved and charged the audience.
The culmination of the evening was the concert of the band Rockin’ Chair. With their performances of popular Bulgarian hits and original songs in a blues-rock style, the musicians from the band touched the hearts of those present, filling them with the rhythm of rock.
The community center was attended by officials, representatives of various institutions, bikers participating in the procession and many citizens. Among them was Mrs. Slavica Stoevska, chairwoman of the “New Steps” Foundation, which has been organizing camps for children with special educational needs in Chepelare for 10 years, inviting children from the city as well.
"Charity is what makes us able to speak with God," shared priest Dimitar Petrov, wishing that the charitable cause would become an annual one.
Speech therapist at "Vasil Dechev" school Irina Machkarska thanked the organizers, participants and everyone who supported the cause on behalf of the children and the school.
"Thank you for your presence, with which you showed today that we are not only at some charity event, but we are also at an event where love triumphs! And where we all show that we are not indifferent, but we want to support and give a chance to children with special educational needs to be one of us!".
The funds raised for the noble cause will be publicly announced after their official counting before a Commission at the Bulgarian Red Cross.
